Anna Sysová

Anna Sysová (1996) clarinet

began studying the clarinet under K. Doležal at the age of 12. Later, she studied at the Grammar School and Music School of the City of Prague in the class of Prof. M. Polák, and went on to complete a Bachelor's degree with the same teacher at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno.

 

She completed a Master's degree in 2022 at the University of Ostrava in the class of K. Dohnal and is now continuing her studies there as a doctoral student. To date she has completed two study internships - at Guildhall School of Music in London and Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in Switzerland. Anna has won several competitions, including Concorso per Clarinetto Carlino 2015, International Competition for Woodwinds in Wroclaw 2014, Markneukirchener Wettbewerb 2014, and Czech Clarinet Art 2014 in Hořice. At the Prague Spring 2022 competition, she won 2nd prize.

 

An enthusiastic chamber musician, Anna is a recipient of scholarships from the Academy of Chamber Music and the German foundation Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz. She is a member of two chamber ensembles: Kalabis Quintet and Slavic Trio. She has gone on several concert tours with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO). She is an alumnus of the Orchestral Academy of the Brno Philharmonic.
