Elias Brown


Elias Peter Brown (1996) conductor

Elias began his studies of conducting at age 17 in St. Petersburg, After graduating with honors from Yale University and the Royal Academy of Music, he became assistant conductor of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, having won first prize at the KSO International Conducting Competition.


He also won top prizes at the 2021 Khachaturian International Conducting Competition and the Lake Como Conducting Competition. Brown has conducted the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Komische Oper Orchestra, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Ensemble MusikFabrik, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and Magdeburgische Philharmonie, among others. As an assistant, he has worked with O. Knussen, M. Elder, E. Gardiner and S. Sloane. Passionate about arts education, Elias has been a teaching artist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and previously worked as a regular guest conductor at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Division.


Also an accomplished trumpet player, Elias has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, and as principal trumpet of the National Youth Orchestra of the USA at Royal Albert Hall or The Kennedy Center. He recently completed an Advanced Diploma at Universität der Künste Berlin (Prof. S. Edwards and D. Boico).
