Haeree Yoo

Haeree was born in Seoul (South Korea). She initially played the piano, discovering the French horn at the age of 16. She graduated from Yonsei University in 2018, studying under Prof. K. Kim and J. Kim. She is now studying French horn in a masters program at the University of Arts Berlin under Prof. K. Dallmann and chamber music at Hanns Eisler Berlin under Prof. M. Spangenberg. In 2020, she joined the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2016, she was awarded 2nd Prize at Dong, a music competition in Korea. In 2019, she was a finalist of the 16th International Tchaikovsky competition and won  2nd prize in the prestigious Carl Nielsen Chamber music competition. In 2020, she won 1st prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. 

As a solist, Haeree Yoo performed at the Korea Wind Orchestra Autumn Festival in 2013 and with Yonsei Sinfonietta and Yonsei Symphony Orchestra in 2014 and 2017, respectively. In 2021, she gave a horn recital in Kumho Art hall after being selected as a Kumho Rising Star.

She participated in the Pacific Music Festival 2017 in Japan. In 2019, she played concerts with Deutsch Symphony Orchestra Berlin and NDR Orchestra Hannover as a guest soloist on French horn. In 2020, she played several concerts with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
